Welcome DandanxD

[edit]

Hi there DandanxD. Welcome to Wikipedia, its always good to see new users. When you get a chance, drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself! You might also like to put a short introduction on your user page so that other wikipedians can get to know you.

You can sign your name on talk pages by using " ~~~ " for your username and " ~~~~ " for your username and a timestamp. Signing your name is important on talk pages because it helps people get in touch with you. Also remember to indent each of your comments using : so that other users can follow the flow of discussions

As well as editing wikipedia you could also think about taking part in many other essential activities that make wikipedia a friendly place. For example you could welcome new users to wikipedia or you could try mediating discussions between other users. There are loads of other options at the Wikipedia:Community Portal.

Some links to get you started in the community:

  • The new users Welcome page is a good place to start.
  • Wikipedia:Help has a broad range of general help topics you may find useful.

If you have any questions or just want to chat then leave a message on my talk page and I'll answer as soon as possible. Happy editing, Daniel.Bryant 12:31, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DandanxD,

Thanks for your many contributions. I hope you'll consider joining WikiProject Korea. Cheers, -- Visviva 11:08, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent! Welcome aboard! A lot of your edits are focused on current events, so I wonder if you might be interested in reviving Current events in Korea and its allied page Portal:Korea/Korea news. If you are, let me know & I'll pitch in as well.
By the way, are you aware that you have two user pages? There's also one here: User:Dandan xD. That account hasn't made any contributions since April, but somehow it was still linked from your signature on my talk page. :-| There's no rule against that, but you might consider redirecting that one here, or something. Cheers, -- Visviva 03:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Is it possible to get rid of that page? Thanks, dandan xD 10:43pm 22 November 2006 (AEST)

Fair use disputed for Image:Zbam.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Zbam.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/IncidentArchive380#Long time abusing Wikipedia by Japanese editors from 2channel meat/sock puppets
Talk:Sea of Japan#2channel meatpuppets from 朝鮮人のWikipedia(ウィキペディア)捏造に対抗せよ 21diff

Hi, DandanxD, Nice meet you. I just come to inform you that you have been exposed to 2channel, Japanese famous bulletin board. Unfortunately, many Japanese editors seem to have abused Wikipedia with the threads for a long time (over 4 years!) The discussion set up three days ago, but I let you know of this now. I translated some of information, but the threads are too many, so if you have a time to look at it, please visit the links listed there. I also add the diff in case you come to the page much later. If it is archived, you would find it in No. 380 or 381. Or use Special:Whatlinkshere Thanks. --Appletrees (talk) 02:22, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I fix the link because it is archived. I recommend you to follow the above links and read them. In short, you have(or had) watched for a long time by Japanese editors at 2channel and Wikipedia. They decide who should be watched, eventually blocked, and banned. --Appletrees (talk) 01:08, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Uncyclopedia-Korean.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Uncyclopedia-Korean.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 14:05, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:Uncyclopedia-Korean.png

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Uncyclopedia-Korean.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. --Otterathome (talk) 21:18, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Uncyclopedia-Korean.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Uncyclopedia-Korean.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 11:56, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Hangul 2002.jpg

[edit]

File:Hangul 2002.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Hangul 2002.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Hangul 2002.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 09:49, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Zbam.jpg

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:Zbam.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Malgun Gothic

[edit]

I'm looking for information on the future of Malgun Gothic. I recently showed a web page configured in Malgun Gothic to a Korean friend, and he felt it looked old fashion compared to Dotum or Gulim. Is anyone doing anything to promote the use of Malgun, with hinting, at the major Korean websites? RichKorea (talk) 03:45, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Malgun Gothic is the new default font of Windows (from Vista onwards) although Dotum is still widely used. Strange, most of the reports I've read (mostly independent blogs) from when Vista was released praised Microsoft for replacing Gulim/Dotum with MG. --DandanxD (talk) 13:43, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox Korean Film

[edit]

Hello, I saw your ID on WikiProject and so I thought you might be interested in a debate at Template Talk on the topic of merging Infobox Korean Film into the generic Infobox Film category, deleting the Hangul/hanja/RR/MR information, or keeping it separate (as it currently is). I would appreciate it if you to contribute your thoughts or at least glance over it. The more people looking/thinking about it will give us better ideas as to what should be decided. Thank you. ₪RicknAsia₪ 08:28, 13 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FYI - I reverted your edit with summary: the term "committed suicide" is very loaded, not the least of which can be seen as implying criminality. See https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/suicide-prevention/worried-about-suicide/having-a-conversation-with-someone-you're-worried-about/language-when-talking-about-suicide and even wikipedia's very own article on the subject... Suicide terminology. Some might view it as "PC", but like all other similar "PC" modernisms, there's no tangible downside, so there's really no reason to object to what studies have apparently shown to be a broad improvement in the standard of related discourse. I personally don't have a strong opinion on it as i'm rather late to the terminology change myself, but if something has successfully made its way in to the broad mainstream, then moving forward, that's the way to go. I hope you don't disagree. Timeshift (talk) 00:30, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
